Guildhall Chambers has developed a formidable reputation as a leading set nationally in recent years, from a long-standing position as the leading set in the South West. 2011 in particular brought the title of "Regional Set of the Year" at the Chambers Bar Awards, swiftly followed by chambers becoming the first regional set to win the national "Chambers of the Year" award at Legal Week's British Legal Awards.

The Guildhall Employment Team is no exception to those high standards, offering a depth of expertise and quality of service to rival the best of its London-based competitors. All members of the team are recommended in the Legal 500 and/or Chambers UK, and two hold appointments to the Attorney General's Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown.

We provide specialist advocacy and advisory services across all aspects of employment, discrimination and collective labour law, including breach of confidence, restrictive covenant disputes and injunctive relief (which is also an area offered by members of our renowned Commercial Team).

We are instructed for employers and employees alike, by a variety of firms and organisations including local authorities, central government departments and leading regional and city firms, as well as smaller local firms that appreciate the team's approachability and quality of service.

While we practise primarily in the South and South West, Wales, the Midlands, the M4 corridor and London, work is undertaken throughout the whole of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Appellate work is undertaken in the EAT and above, and cases are also conducted in the County and High Courts.

Members of the team are active in the Employment Lawyers' Association and frequently deliver lectures and seminars on its behalf. In addition, the team has its own seminar programme which runs throughout the year. Requests for bespoke in-house training or seminars are welcomed.
